COMANDO SUZIE "Pobres Chavales"
Review on

COMANDO SUZIE "Pobres Chavales"
Review on
GOTHTRONIC (English text)
The first full length album of Comando Suzie "Pobres Chavales" is released by the Italian label Punch records. Comando Suzie is Raul Lopez and Elle. Demian of O'Paradis assisted on this debut album.
The lyrics are all in Spanish language. Different from other mediteranian bands on punch records, Comando Suzie does not have that sultry sound. If the text would not be in Spanish I would say the atmosphere of the album is closer to a German sound. In fact the atmosphere on the album reminds me of the eighties episodes of the German detective series on TV "Derrick". Whenever he had to go to a nightclub to find the last link to unmask the murderer the bands playing on these clubs had a similar sound as this album of Comando Suzie.
Raoul's voice and style of singing - all on the same tune - gives a sarcastic feeling to the songs. "Pobres Chavales" contains eleven songs all full of very danceable electro and dark minimal. This is an album that grows on you; give it some time as the album gets better every time you hear it as the repetitive rhythm enters your brain.
The album is released in a limited edition of only 333 copies that are hand numbered on the inside sleeve. So hurry to order this cd as it for sure will fill the dance floor. For lovers of electro, dark minimal.

COMANDO SUZIE "Pobres Chavales"
Review on CHAIN D.L.K. (English text)
Released as the previous split 7" by Punch Records, here's the first full length by Comando Suzie. Sung only in Spanish language, POBRES CHAVALES brings to the lovers of electro wave eleven songs in balance from dark minimal electro and synthpop. As for the single, Comando Suzie, is formed by Raul Lopez, Ella and helped out by Demian (active as O Paradis, as you probably already know). If I'd tell that it's the first time that I listen to electronic Spanish music I'd lie, because I know Aviador Dro (best known as the Spanish Kraftwerk even if most of their songs aren't comparable to the ones of the German gods as they sound different and born from from a totally different background). Instead for Comando Suzie I'd avoid any link to Kraftwerk as this time we have something different: Comando Suzie play a minimal electro pop a melancholic and dark but also capable of proposing potential hits like "Descabello" (arranged differently it could be a dance hit) or a dark anthem like the following "Disciplina". Proposing a blend of Die Form meet Telex the trio made a good debut CD that unfortunately has been printed into a limited edition of only 333 copies. Check them on the Punch Records page and hurry!
